FULL-SPECTRUM CBD
Full-spectrum CBD contains an array of cannabis plant extracts, including essential oils, flavonoids, terpenes, and cannabinoids, such as cannabinol and THC.
More specifically, full-spectrum CBD contains the full range of 100+ cannabinoids, including THC (though never more than 0.3% by law), 150+ terpenes, and 20+ flavonoids. These are all good and welcome compounds.
Full-spectrum CBD products may contain up to 0.3% of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the cannabinoid in cannabis that produces the “high.” While a material amount of THC is desirable in marijuana for this reason, THC beyond the legally permitted maximum of 0.3% in CBD is not desired, at all. It’s the CBD and its range of qualities that we desire. That said, we also appreciate the flavonoids and terpenes for the “entourage effect” they can create.
Entourage Effect
The “entourage effect” is the outcome that can occur when the various components found within full- and broad-spectrum CBD, including terpenes and flavonoids, interact synergistically with the human body to produce a sum greater than their individual parts.
Terpenes and flavonoids, where full- and broad-spectrum CBD gets much of its character.
Terpenes
Terpenes are produced in the sticky resin glands of the cannabis plant where CBD and other cannabinoids also are produced. The cannabis plant contains more than 150 terpenes. Terpenes provide the unique scent, like the citrus aroma of oranges or grapefruit, and therapeutic benefits, like those of chamomile and lavender.
Flavonoids
Flavonoids are the product of a plant’s metabolism and are desired for the antioxidant protection and other health benefits they offer. Cannabis includes about 20 different flavonoids. Flavonoids also can be found in a variety of fruits and vegetables. They are similar to terpenes in the way they contribute to a plant's aroma and flavor, but they also offer their own unique therapeutic advantages, including help with inflammation and neuroprotection.
Does full-spectrum CBD contain THC? Yes, but not much – 0.3% or less. Full-spectrum CBD contains the entire spectrum of cannabinoids, including THC, as well as terpenes and flavonoids. Please note: Exact Nature’s Certificates of Analysis (COA) for all Exact Nature products can be found on this website and they show the breakdown of compounds in each product, as well as the THC concentration, or lack thereof. COAs are certified independent lab test results provided to give you, our customer, for greater peace of mind. |
How much full-spectrum CBD should I be taking? When it comes to CBD, more is more. We often say CBD works best over time with consistent use. In short, we want you to get more CBD into your body where it can work. Exact Nature products with full-spectrum CBD are offered at either 25 or 50 milligram doses which we suggest taking twice daily. The CBD amount in either dose is material, which is why we offer these amounts – we want it to work for you. Research suggests taking between 20 mg and 1,500 mg CBD a day. |
Is full-spectrum stronger CBD more potent than broad-spectrum CBD? Neither full- or broad-spectrum CBD is stronger than the other. The difference is that full-spectrum has 0.3% THC or less, not enough to produce an intoxicating effect, while broad-spectrum CBD has no THC. With this, the stated amount of CBD per serving, from 25 to 50 mg, is the same whether it’s full- or broad-spectrum. Both keep the range of flavonoids and terpenes in place by design, notably for the potential synergistical entourage effect they can stimulate within our bodies. |
How does full-spectrum CBD work? Researchers believe CBD – whether it is full-spectrum, broad-spectrum CBD or CBD isolate – binds to and balances a system of neurotransmitters throughout the body called the endocannabinoid system (ECS). A balanced ECS helps return your body to equilibrium. When you take CBD, you are replenishing the endocannabinoids in the ECS that can become depleted over time from life’s everyday stressors. It's generally believed that CBD helps stabilize important bodily functions from mood to sleep to addictive cravings. |
Is full-spectrum CBD safe for people who are trying to get sober? Yes, without a doubt. Our sole purpose for existence at Exact Nature is because we believe in the many ways CBD can help us in sobriety; we wouldn’t be in business otherwise. All Exact Nature products are non-addictive, and non-intoxicating. |
Is full-spectrum CBD addictive or habit forming? No; CBD is not addictive nor habit forming. You likely will, however, greatly enjoy the way you feel when you take our CBD and want to make it a habit. |
Will full-spectrum CBD get me high? Is it addictive? No, full-spectrum CBD is non-intoxicating and non-addictive. There’s no chance Exact Nature product will get you high. The minimal amount of THC found in full spectrum (never more than 0.3% by law) is not enough to be intoxicating. |
Does full-spectrum CBD show up in drug tests? Full-spectrum CBD does contain 0.3% THC, but it’s unlikely this small amount will show positive on a drug test. If you’re concerned, it would be best to stick with CBD isolate or broad-spectrum CBD. |
How does full-spectrum CBD make you feel? Full-spectrum CBD can be calming and relaxing. It can help with pain, inflammation, and/or concentration. We say often that CBD stabilizes important bodily functions from mood to sleep to addictive cravings. |
Is full-spectrum CBD anti-inflammatory? According to a study published on the website for the National Center for Biotechnology Information (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7023045/), “Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the main pharmacologically active phytocannabinoids of Cannabis sativa L. CBD is non-psychoactive but exerts a number of beneficial pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.” |
